Overview

Traditional houses are made mainly of large stones at their base, and mud brick in the walls and roof. The mud brick in its construction is quite soft. In order to increase its durability, the builders of the time hardened it by baking it in fireplaces. Part of the base of these fireplaces is still preserved today. These ruins remind us to this day of the different methods used by our ancestors for the construction of the buildings of that time. The fact that the fireplaces located far from the village are known as 'inside fireplaces' instead of those at the entrance to the village may be confusing at first. However, considering the fact that the village site was also originally located in the now remote areas of the village explains this 'paradox'.
